The Fan-to-Fan Ticket Exchange

PRESS RELEASE

SEATWAVE COMPLETES AGENCY ROSTER

LONDON, July X, 2007: Seatwave, the UK’s largest fan-to-fan ticket exchange, has appointed two new media buying agencies, OMD UK and Kinetic. OMD will be responsible for media buying and Kinetic will take on all outdoor buying activity across the UK. Seatwave’s media spend will be in the region of £1 million in 2007.

OMD’s brief will be to drive traffic to the Seatwave site and increase ticket sales as well as helping establish a strong consumer brand. Kinetic will be responsible for all poster buying activity in and around live event venues across the whole of the UK.

These appointments complete Seatwave’s agency roster following M&C Saatchi’s appointment in April this year as creative agency to build Seatwave into the biggest, most trusted and inspiring marketplace for real fans to buy tickets.

Launched officially in February 2007, Seatwave’s main objective is to improve the consumer experience within the secondary ticketing market across the UK and Europe. Operating in a safe and secure environment, consumers can buy and sell tickets for concerts, theatre, sports and many other live events. With the existing secondary ticketing market currently worth around £1 billion in the UK, and between £3.5 - £5 billion across Europe, Seatwave is in a uniquely strong position to capitalise on this market by offering consumers a more transparent and safer way to buy and sell tickets.

OMD UK is a leading media communications agency, having been named ‘The Most Creative Agency in the World’ by the Gunn Report for Media for the third consecutive year and named ‘Agency of the Year 2006’ by Marketing Magazine. Kinetic is the world’s leading independent planner and buyer of out of home media.

Commenting on the agency appointments, James Burgess, VP Marketing for Seatwave said: “This is the latest step of our ongoing strategy to extend our reach by teaming up with some of the UK’s most successful and respected agencies. We look forward to working with both Kinetic and OMD and to meeting all the exciting challenges ahead.”

Simon Brockman, Business Director of OMD commented: “We are very excited to be working with a business that offers a new and highly credible online buying and selling ticketing experience.”

Seatwave champions the cause of cleaning up the ticketing business and has engaged recently with the Government’s Select Committee Inquiry into ticket touting and to increase protection for ticket buyers. Seatwave has already gone beyond the recommended measures and calls for all other agents within the industry to do the same.
