PRESS RELEASE
IRELAND MATCH MOST POPULAR WITH SCOTTISH FANS
01 February 2008 – In the last ten years, Scotland has only beaten Ireland three times in the RBS Six Nations tournament. However after reaching the quarter finals in last year’s World Cup, a performance far better than their Irish counterparts, Scottish fans are eager to see their team take on the men in green.
Added popularity comes from the fact that this is the first time Scottish fans will descend on the legendary Croke Park as Lansdowne Road, Irish rugby’s traditional home, continues to undergo redevelopment.
“Scotland v Ireland is proving to be one of the most sought-after matches for Scottish fans, even more so than the home tie with England” says Joe Cohen, CEO and founder of Seatwave, Europe’s largest online fan-to-fan ticket exchange, “Those hard-to-get tickets being sold on the secondary market can really indicate preference and fans are snapping these up with the average ticket price at £188.”
For fans looking to catch their team on home ground, at lower prices, tickets for Scotland’s opening fixture against France are selling for around £99.
6 Nations tickets are notoriously difficult to get hold of but fans no longer need to worry about falling victim to unscrupulous touts. Seatwave’s TicketIntegrity™ guarantees buyers will receive the tickets they ordered in good time for the event. If not Seatwave refund 150 per cent of what was paid.
