The Fan-to-Fan Ticket Exchange

PRESS RELEASE

MANCHESTER GOES KRAZY FOR THE KOOKS

18 APRIL, 2008

Mancunians have been crowned the biggest Kooks fans outside of London, according to Seatwave.com, Europe’s leading fan-to-fan ticket exchange. Tickets sales for their gig at the Manchester Apollo have been double that of the second most popular regional stop on their tour.

Their fans have also given a massive thumbs-up to their latest album release, “Konk”.
Following national newspaper reviews of the album, the average price for tickets exchanging hands on the site rose from £44 to £51, an increase of 16%. The actual album release on 14th April saw ticket sales increase by 55%.

It also seems that the Kookie lads who shot to fame with singles ‘Naïve’ and ‘Ooh la’ are extremely popular with the ladies, with more than 60% of tickets sold on the site being bought by women.

James Burgess, Chief Marketing Officer of Seatwave.com says:

‘This triple platinum selling band remains a firm favourite with fans. Since the release of their second album Konk we’ve seen a huge surge in tickets sold, especially in Manchester. It seems that Mancunian women in particular, rate The Kooks lads highly.’
